Hey, I’m Michael, the one behind the camera & Myr Films.
I started out making little travel films with a GoPro and a drone, and before I knew it, a family friend asked me to film their wedding on a local beach in Mandurah. Six years later, I’ve filmed over 200 weddings across WA, Europe, and Bali.
For me, weddings are one of the few times in life where you’ll (hopefully) be surrounded by almost everyone you love, and the people at your wedding are what make the day. After six years behind the camera, I’ve really come to understand how fleeting those moments can be. In my early years I obsessed over the “cinematic shots” the rings, the dress, the perfect flatlays.
Don’t get me wrong, I still capture all of that, but I’ve realised the real story isn’t in those details. It’s in the connection you and your partner share, and the people filling the room with love, laughter, and sometimes tears. My style is candid at its core with no stiff poses, nothing fake, just the day as it naturally unfolds: the nerves, the belly laughs, the messy dance floors, and all the in-betweens that make your story yours. I create films that take you back, full of energy, fun, and all the chaos.
